City Walks – recommended books
NB: I no longer have links to Amazon due to creative differences!
The best way to see a city is on foot. You see so much more when you’re down at ground level rather than sitting on a bus or in a car. You can wander where you like, and, in my experience, discover all sorts of secrets and surprises you didn’t anticipate.
I always allow plenty of time for exploring a city which means I can focus on particular neighborhoods each day, rather than trying to cover everything at once. Of course if time doesn’t allow, you may only be able to skim the surface, but if possible, I recommend allowing a decent amount of time to simply wander and absorb.
